25 April 1895 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Thursday. 25th April [1895]. St Mark’s Day. Elaine & Ola went off to hear the service at St Mark’s directly after breakfast & they lunched with Mr & Mrs Eden. I spent the morning in looking out the MSS of Henry’s memoirs to pack them ready to take to England. It cost me a great pang to remove them from the writing table drawer in to which he had put them. The girls went to the Liceo concert with Mrs Eden & all came home to tea at 4 with me. The weather had changed & it rained so there was no going out again. Mr G. Cozzi came also to call. | |
