1 August 1895 — Devonshire House, Weymouth
Thursday. 1st August [1895]. In afternoon Nela & I walked along the Esplanade to the coast guard station & sat on a knoll looking over the bay. A volunteer camp was being erected not far from there & road was full of people coming & going but we got to a quiet spot & sat sometime only returning home by 7.30. Monty’s dog Turk accompanied us & has become quite friendly with me.
