21 September 1895 — Lutterworth
Saturday. 21st [September 1895]. Went into the church to hear Miss Borwick play the violin to Monty A’s organ accompaniment. She plays very well. After lunch Kate & I drove to see Mrs Jary & had tea out on the lawn. It began to feel a little colder today after the later very hot weather. Col. Jary was there a most amusing curious man rather entertaining. They showed us round the gardens & gave us some fruit. Then he showed us his pictures of which there are some good of the English school. When Kate & I got home we found an array of people sitting in the garden—invited to play lawn tennis by the Canon & by Eda–
