Friday. 11th [October 1895]. Nelly met me at Savile Row & we worked at getting the studio in order. Monty Alderson came up to town for the day & we took him to lunch at one of the ABC (Aerated Bread Co) shops. After lunch my brother Monty came to Savile Row & was dreadfully disgusted at the confusion & did not stay long. Monty Alderson met me & Nelly at 5 o’cl at Half Moon Street & we had tea– Our lunch at the ABC consisted of pressed beef, bread, butter, cake & tea & for us three cost 2/4d. I moved to 40 Half Moon St my brother Arthur’s house. He & Nelly Alderson are there. | |
