Monday. 11th [November 1895]. Monty was here in the morng & we did something towards making the front hall more comfortable. He left for the country in the afternoon– Eda & I took a walk to Hertford St to see old Miss Duff Gordon– Met her in the street & she took us into her house & we sat & had a chat. Afterwards called on Addie Dss of Bedford. Did not find her at home & on getting back I found she had called on me—so we missed each other. | |
