29 November 1895 — 3 Savile Row
Friday. 29th November [1895]. Monty Alderson came up to town & altho’ it was a wet morning we trudged out to Westr & I helped him to choose Christmas presents for his parish. We returned to lunch & afterwards had a visit from Mr Arthur Hill the instrument seller in Bond Street, a very interesting man who is very artistic & had asked leave to come & see this house as he knew I had things collected in various lands. He spent some time with us & he & Monty talked about music &c & made great friends. He has bought a double stringed guitar I had & could not play & gave me £5 for it. Nela & July Du Cane came to tea.
