14 December 1895 — 3 Savile Row
Saturday. 14th December [1895]. My new book case was brought & put in its place in the morning—so Kate & I went out & walked to 17 Cav. Square where I left Kitty to lunch & then hurried back to see Mrs Hills who came to lunch with me. She is the head mistress of the Southwark board school. After lunch she & I walked to Hertford St to see Adeline Dss of Bedford & thence to the Marble Arch where I put Mrs Hills onto her omnibus to go to her home & then I walked back to Savile Row & found Kate returned. After tea Monty came down to see us & gave Kate an order to go to hear the theatres at the phonograph office. Lady Gregory dined with us & they went in the evening & I went to bed. At 11 Kate returned highly delighted having been “put on” to several of the theatres & heard perfectly what was going on.
