23 December 1895 — 3 Savile Row | |
Monday. 23rd [December 1895]. Monty Alderson came here about 11 on his return to Hatfield from Chelmsford where he had yesterday been ordained priest. Miss Jeffreys called about the Garry Hill work. At 12 I walked with Monty to shop. Returned to lunch at 1.30 after wh M. went off to Hatfield. I drove with Maria from 3 to 5. We called on Connie & saw her. After tea I type wrote till dinner & after dinner till bed time. I am now copying the letters to Mr Clark of 1869 & 70 the first year of our married life & I went to bed very sad. | |
