8 July 1896 — Villa Mier, Belluno | |
Wednesday. 8th [July 1896]. Had a headache & could do nothing but lie on the sofa & read in the darkened room till after 5 o’cl tea when I got better & went out on the terrace. The landlord & his brother came up & arranged some flowers for me in wet moss. I found the brother is a sculptor & have promised to visit his studio in the town. He informs me he is the author of a monument in marble near the station. | |
