12 November 1896 — 3 Savile Row
Thursday. 12th November [1896]. I walked out in the morning & went to see Mrs Rate at 9 S. Audley St who was ill in bed. Then went on to Adeline Dss of Bedford’s & lunched with her & Lady Somers who was staying with her– Directly after lunch Addie drove me to Southwark where she opened the Sale of Work in the Church School house in St Stephen Sqr for Mr Dodge. There were speeches made by Mr Dodge, his curate, his churchwarden & by Addie & then we went round the sale & she bought garments for the poor. She drove me to S. Audley St & took me in to see Lady Dudley’s 2 children. Lady D. I did not see as she was in bed with her new baby a week old– I thence walked home.
