14 November 1896 — 3 Savile Row
Saturday. 14th [November 1896]. I had promised to take B & Irène to the Hotel Metropole to see the procession of motor carriages start for Reigate at 9 this morning– I got up early but felt so unwell I had to get back into bed & let them go alone. I was better & got up for luncheon & Nela Du Cane lunched with me & then I took her with me & went to open the 3rd days sale at Southwark. I had a good deal of talk with Mr Dodge—found he was a Dorsetshire man—& I believe a very good & hardworking man. He showed us the billiard room above the schoolroom built by Mr J. S. Morgan the American & told us about his parish & work– We returned to Savile Row for 5 o’cl tea.
