23 December 1896 — 3 Savile Row
Wednesday. 23rd [December 1896]. Had a great morning at doing house accounts with Monty & we arranged together that he shd be my lodger at £250 per an.—& pay ½ of lighting & firing besides. He is to refer it to Edward Duncannon– We then took leave of each other as he is leaving this week for the South to yacht with Baron Ferdinand Rothschild—& I went off to Inwood to spend Christmas. Maria Du Cane came to bid me adieu & accompanied me to the station & saw me off. I got there soon after 3—& found Theo at home but Merthyr out hunting.
