15 January 1898 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Saturday. 15th [January 1898]. I worked to finish my copy of the Ercole Grandi Madonna della Seirnia. Nela went out shopping in the morning with Iduna Bel & brought her back with her to lunch. Marchese & Marchesa Guiccioli arrived from Vicenza to stay with me. She arrived at 4 & we went to the piazza where we met him & returned with us home. They took Nela to the Fenice in the evening. It was the first night of the “Ero e Leandro” & supposed to be a smart night the box therefore went up to 70 fcs & the entrata 5 cs a head. I typed & went early to bed. | |
