15 November 1898 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Tuesday. 15th [November 1898]. Hilda Montalba brought her invalid sister Ellen to lunch with us. She has been desperately ill all the summer & I wanted her to have a try if she cd go out a little into society. She enjoyed herself & after lunch we took her to the Eden’s garden that she might see the chrysanthemums in their beauty. We did not stay there long. I went to see the Belmondos & found Ct B. was ill in bed suffering from inflammation in his shoulder joint. I sat with them for a little while. | |
