Wednesday. 11th [October 1899]. Mr & Mrs Curtis & Mr & Mrs Harold Denison came to lunch. The latter lately married. Mrs D. is the daughter of Sir William Lister late of the F.O. and a very handsome woman. Mr & Mrs Browning & Miss Broadwood who [is] staying with them came to tea also the Belmondos, B. & Bss Haan, the Montalbas– Quite a party & they stayed till late– Mr Browning is come down from Asolo on a visit to his wife for 2 days. She is radiant & is evidently desperately in love with him.
