19 January 1902 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Sunday. 19th [January 1902]. that the new reredos was completed & I took Emilia to church to see it– Iduna also went with us. The reredos is a great wooden frame of a picture wh has been found in an antiquity shop. The effect is very good. We walked home after service & Mrs Eden advised us to go to the Concert given at the Liceo rooms on that afternoon. This we did but were not very favorably impressed & were glad to get away home to tea as I was very cold– Mr Williamson came to tea– I read aloud to E. after dinner & we went to bed at 11– I was ill all night—very sick—but had not such a violent attack as the day after Christmas. | |
