10 November 1903 — Stupinigi Palace, Turin
Tuesday. 10th [November 1903]. I left by 8.20 train & got to Milan at 12. Baker went on to Venice with the luggage. Baroness Reinelt met me at Milan & took me to the Hotel (de la Ville) & I lunched with her & a friend she had with her. Later she took me out driving & we went to Sorelle dell’Acqua the embroideress’ recommended me by the Queen– My old friend the Sra Ermelinda Canzi being dead I was glad to find one to replace her. We went to Tova’s & had tea & then to the station & I left for Venice by 6.40 train. Found Verona & Nela waiting up for me en robes de chambre on my arrival at midnight & had tea & got to bed as quickly as I could—well tired out.
