1 January 1904 — Paris | |
Friday. 1st January [1904]. After the midnight mass I did not get to sleep till early hours in the morning & got up late & tired. Addie went out to R.C. church with a friend. I sat in & did not go out all day. Lunched with Addie down in the Restaurant & ditto tea—& sat talking in the sitting [room] with her. Sophy Franqueville came to see us for a short time. We dined at 7 & directly after Addie left for Cannes by 9.15 train wh will get her to the end of her journey at 1 tomorrow. I shut myself up in my room & went early to bed—feeling very lonely in the big hotel where I am but a number. | |
