11 May 1904 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Wednesday. 11th [May 1904]. The talk about the incident Brandolin continues. I went in the afternoon to tea at the Morosini’s & there found all the world. The discontent of the ladies here has melted away like snow. We were told today’s party was given in honor of Mrs Goelet—who is evidently fêted because she is an American enormously rich with a fine yacht. We left as soon as we could & went to the Eden’s garden wh is now lovely with roses.
