8 August 1904 — Salce, Belluno
Monday. 8th [August 1904]. We drove over to the Cassis at Villa Maraga to have tea. The Cassis have taken this villa for the summer. It has a lovely view over Belluno & looking down on the Piave & is abt a kilom. from the town– In the grounds is one of the usual hornbeam ally’s of the country wh make a cool walk. The oldest dog belonging to the Edens began to ail. She had hurt her back yesterday while jumping. Her owners were much concerned. The heat was excessive all day & I was feverish & had neuralgia. Mr Eden got me some quinine at the chemist.
