30 August 1904 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Tuesday. [30th August 1904]. Typed—wrote &c– The Bishop of Ely & Lady Alwyne & Miss Soulsby also Mrs Curtis came to tea 7 stayed sometime chatting– Then I took out Lady Alwyne in gondola to the Eden’s garden where she arranged with the gardener to decorate our church next Saty for a wedding of a Mr Ross who has come from India to meet the girl of his choice. We also looked in to the hospital & found a 2nd patient was in– Returned home to dinner at 7.30 & did not go out again. | |
