18 September 1905 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Monday. 18th [September 1905]. Ola advised me to let her fumigate my bedroom so I moved into the spare room & she sent Dr Tommasini to see me who would not let me get up. I had a telegram from Princess Margaret from Cronberg to say the Crown P. & Pss of Hesse were arriving here today to embark on the “Amphitrite” for Greece. As I could not get up to go & meet them I sent them my gondola & they came straight here & Pss Sofie came up to my room & paid me a short visit & they left Venice at 6 this eveng. Baroness Reinelt came & dined here with the Aldersons & sat with me after dinner. | |
