20 December 1905 — Jodhpur | |
Wednesday. 20th [December 1905]. A very slow train meandering along landed us at Jodhpur at 8 in the evening. The Maharajah’s carriage met us & we were driven off to the state guest house & met by a nice little Hindu baboo who saw us safely installed. The Palace we are in is most gorgeous & very spacious. The entrance hall had a dinner laid in it which was a welcome sight. In had an immense room on the right—Nela ditto on the left. There were numerous servants & we soon had a good meal & got into comfortable beds. | |
