15 February 1906 — En route to Ceylon | |
Thursday. 15th [February 1906]. The Princess & her lady did not appear to 9 o’cl breakfast. Had a long talk with Sir Allan & told him of the Venice Hospital. Passed the Andaman Islands near eno’ to distinguish houses with spy glasses. Perfectly smooth sea– Nela saw 2 water snakes while near the Andamans. An American boy who was talking to us—saw another. There were many flying fish all day. In afternoon Nela read aloud to me while I made bead chains. Played patience after dinner Sir Allan looking on. | |
