Wednesday. 20th [November 1907]. I dined at Claridges Hotel with Princess Stephanie & Ct Lonyay. They are over in England for the marriage of Pss Louise d’Orleáns which they describe as one of the finest ceremonies possible. The Duke d’Orleáns had built out of his small house at Wood Norton a temporary chapel & a hall wh were splendidly decorated with tapestries belonging to the R. family of France– They described the whole affair as simply gorgeous & were enthusiastic as to the whole thing. I did not remain late with the Pss as she is leaving tomorrow early to return to Oroszvar. I sent a telegram of felicitations to Q. Margherita of Italy today being her birthday. I woke upon | |
