30 April 1911 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Sunday. 30th [April 1911]. To morning service & on to see Angela Reinelt to bid her good bye as I leave tomorrow for Paris– Sorry to leave her suffering from gout & walking with difficulty. In the afternoon went to the Eden garden which is lovely with masses of iris & the roses not very far from coming out. A lovely warm calm day—sat a long time talking to Mr Eden in the tempio. Went in to hospital to take leave– Am sorry to be leaving Venice this lovely spring weather & the quiet here—not knowing what I may do in noisy London at this time of year. Monty, Eda & I dined with the Whitakers who have a Mrs & Miss Sartorius staying with them & came home early.
