Saturday. 10th August [1912]. I left London by 8.45 train for Ireland. Nela returned later to Ballards. Irène Congreve was in the train & we lunched together in the rest: car & after Fishguard did the rest of the journey together—had a good passage & reached Bessboro’ at about 7 p.m. The Bessboroughs & Duncannons are all here also Gweneth, Lord & Lady Dartrey & Lady Mary Dawson—Lady Evelyn Baring & her daughter Miss Hogg & Miss Gerard Leigh & Mr               .
