10 October 1912 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Thursday. 10th [October 1912]. I was up late but am restored to health tho’ shakey. In the afternoon I went out in gondola to the Hospital with Sir Arthur Fanshawe who wanted to see over it & then we went over to the Eden’s garden to see them– Sir Arthur & he can sympathize as they have each of them lost an eye by the failure of an operation for cataract. We did not remain long there as I was rather afraid of being out late after my indisposition. | |
