5 December 1861 — Cambridge | |
Thursday. 5th December [1861]. We went to Augustus’ rooms & went in the eveng to the theatricals at George Newtons at Croxton– Saw HRH in the afternoon. He had been playing tennis with Augustus & the latter drove him in his trap from the tennis court to the Bull, there HRH got on his own poney & rode off– The theatricals were good but they did not do after the ADC. Lord Royston acted & Capt. Pemberton both rather good actors, there was dancing afterwards but the floor was sticky & I knew nobody. | |
