3 October 1862 — Canford Manor, nr. Wimborne, Dorset | |
Friday. 3rd [October 1862]. Today all the servants went out for a picnic at Bournemouth and only Luff stayed at home besides Marias nurses. Luff did the cooking and every thing else. Monty’s skipper came down to see Monty. I practised a little in the morng & also sat in the study. Mrs Luff came down after lunch to see the children and I sat the whole afternoon bothering over the guitar trying to learn the notes. It rained a little. | |
