Thursday. 18th [December 1862]. We were all very late I only being down by luncheon. After lunch I practised my concertina till 4—then I went down, did some Italian & read some of Macaulays life by Arnold– Con: made taffy. After dinner I practised & did some illumination; my newspaper with cypher came from Barry’s– | |
