3 January 1863 — Uffington House, nr. Stamford, Lincolnshire | |
Saturday. 3rd [January 1863]. I drove Maria Musgrave in to Stam: in the basket carriage—some of the rest walking & some in the sociable– Lady Aveland called and we passed her on the road– Arrived at Stam: we went to a china shop & I got out & walked home Blanche taking my place. Ivor came in time for dinner & we played post in eveng and then “slap hands” till 12– We then went to bed and I went & sat with Fel: till rather late. Ivor tormented me at dinner about my curl making rhymes & riddles about it– Fel went out. | |
