14 January 1863 — Hampton Court, nr. Leominster, Herefordshire | |
Wednesday. 14th [January 1863]. In morng we went out to see the saw mills and a little boy who was working there got hurt– In eveng ball at Hereford (Hunt Ball). I, Ivor, Mr R. Wigram & Henry Ark: went in a bus together; we sang choruses all the way there, danced till 2½—it was a very good ball. Coming home the driver took the wrong turn & turned us into a timber yard out of wh it was not too easy to get. We found G. Ark: waiting up for us to open oysters– In afternoon I went with Alice to pick primroses—she rode & I led the poney. | |
