26 March 1863 — Exeter House, Roehampton
Thursday. 26th [March 1863]. Expected Car to lunch. She did not come till 3. The M. & Con: went to town. The Ker Seymers who brought Car down did not leave her long but after calling on the Baroness Hambro came here– We took Gortie to see our rooms & then went next door & had tea. As soon as they had left I went to our garden to get some violets and the carriage at that moment arriving with Blossett as well she went with me. I did Maria’s hair and had just time to get dressed for dinner. Baron & Baroness Hambro, Mr Fletcher, Mr M. Corry, Mr L. Ashley & Reggie Welby besides Maria, Richard, Monty, Blossett & Molly came to dinner. Mr Fletcher took me in & I sat next to Monty. We had some singing in the eveng but they all hummed and would not sing very well. They all left at about 12. Blossett came & sat in my room for about an hour. Mr Fletcher came to stay till Saturday.
