26 April 1863 — Exeter House, Roehampton
Sunday. 26th [April 1863]. I went with Schr. Flamanck & Milord to St Mary’s in the morng where there was a collection. Montie & Reggie Yorke came down just at the end of luncheon. We went up to the schoolroom where he played, sang & smoked & then went over to see the Baron & came back to tea wh we had out on the lawn; it was lovely & the cuckoo sang beautifully the whole time. Montie went over to dine with Maria—but Mr Yorke dined here & also Mr L. Ashley who came just at dinner time. We had a very pleasant eveng some singing and a long & amusing chatter with L. Ashley. They did not leave till after 10.
