Sunday. 12th [June 1864]. Monty came to fetch me to go to church in the morng—we started off not quite knowing what church we would go to & ended by going to Portman Chapel to hear Mr Reeves. Directly after lunch Susan Hambro came to ask me to go with her to the Zoological gardens wh I refused. The M & Blanche went to the Temple church to hear the Bishop of Oxford preach. Reggie Yorke & Val Hambro & Freddy Villiers came in. At 5 we had T in the garden & then came Mr & Mrs Dawson Damer, Mr Armar Corry, Mr Ponsonby & May, Lady M. Arkwright & Dick H:, John Welby, etc. I went to dine with Susan Hambro & met Val Hambro, Mrs Damer, F. Villiers & Monty– Home at abt 11– | |
