18 December 1864 — Exeter House, Roehampton
Sunday. 18th [December 1864]. It was snowing when we got up and so we sent for a fly to go to church but it did not come. I spent the morng in Blanches room as she has not yet lost her neuralgia & did not get up till the eveng. Ivor came to luncheon. And after I strung his silver beads for him. At 3¼ the cab came to take us to church. We found that the hour was altered to ½ hour sooner so we did not go in. I & Ivor walked down to the station & Con: & Capt. E. walked home. Ivor sent a message to town & we walked home. I went in to Maria for a few minutes & then came in & helped Ivor to write in my little sitting room. 5 T. in the schoolroom and Grannie came to it. I tried to learn to make shadows on the wall till dressing time. After dinner Rd came in for a short time. I played for Ivor to sing & we had some hymns. Ivor wrote some more letters and then to bed. 18 degrees of frost last night.
