30 January 1865 — Canford Manor, nr. Wimborne, Dorset | |
Monday. 30th [January 1865]. Rather late. Practised from ¼ to 11 till nearly 12. when I went to print with Ivor till lunch. After lunch I went & sat with Blanche in her room while she read to me 1st some of Peveril of the Peak & then some of Hallams middle ages in France. We had T in Connie’s room & stayed there so long that I had only just time to write one letter before dinner. I sat working on the sofa all the eveng while Ivor & Blanche sat with me & humbugged abt.
