12 November 1869 — 21 Grafton Street | |
Friday. 12th [November 1869]. I got up by 5 o’cl: The Spanish Minister called to bid us goodbye. Also the American Minister (Motley the historian) and Charles Dickens. Unfortunately they came all abt the same time so I could not enjoy either. Connie & L came to say goodbye. Also Monty. Kate stayed & dined. Cecil spent the afternoon with me but did not stay dinner– “The M & S” came after dinner. | |
