20 November 1869 — Paris | |
Saturday. 20th [November 1869]. After breakfast Mr C. & Henry went out & I went out with the 2 De Peyronnets who came to see me. In the afternoon I took a walk with Mr Clark & helped him to do his shopping (lace &c for Mrs C.) At 6 we went to the Grand Hotel where we met Ivor & C. & dined at the table d’hôte & then went to the Theatre to hear the “Chevalier de la Maison Rouge” by Dumas—an old piece revived & wh Dumas flatters himself led to the Revolution of 48. Cornelia did not like it but we were very much interested but did not stay to see it out as it was so long. | |
