24 November 1869 — Bordeaux | |
Wednesday. 24th [November 1869]. After breakfast we went to the wine merchant to order our wine and went afterwards to see the Cathedral & 2 other churches which were rather fine particularly some with fine detached bell towers. At 1 o’cl. we went to the station & went to Bayonne where we arrived about dusk in a most violent thunderstorm & pouring rain. We went to the Hotel St Etienne wh was most comfortable clean & good. | |
