12 January 1870 — Madrid | |
Wednesday. 12th [January 1870]. Henry & I both had headaches today—mine got better in the course of the morning– I sang with Mr Hunt and also had a Spanish lesson– In the afternoon Henry was not well eno’ to go out & I went alone. Went to Mrs Hunt’s & found her at home & took her a blotting book & paper case I had. She came out with me & we went to enquire after Mme Canitz who had not been well eno’ to dine last night at the Regent’s; we then went on & paid a visit to Mme Riaño & luckily found her & sat some time with her & on coming away met Mr Ashburnham going to call. Came home at 5 & let Mrs Hunt go on in the carriage. Henry not much better. In the evening I played & sang. | |
