21 January 1870 — Madrid | |
Friday. 21st [January 1870]. I had a headache & could not do much & at last was obliged to go & lie down in my room in the dark. I was the more sorry as we had asked Isabel & Juan Prim to tea at 4 & also the Comyn boy who however had a cold & could not come. Henry had to entertain the Prim children & they were very happy playing games with him & Mr & Mrs Hunt who came in & they stayed playg till after 7. The Hunts dined with Henry & I went to bed but Mrs Hunt came & sat with me in the eveng & I thereby had good practice in Spanish. | |
