11 February 1870 — Madrid | |
Friday. 11th [February 1870]. We went in the evening to Mme Alvarez’ to hear Don Pasquale performed by amateurs. Mr Hunt did the Dr’s part & a Mlle Peset the woman’s part & it was wonderfully well done. It was a pouring night & we came away before the end. We had Messrs Ff & Ashm to dinner & after dinner Cerruti looked in for a few minutes. | |
