20 March 1870 — Madrid | |
Sunday. 20th [March 1870]. As I passed such a sleepless night I did not get up to church. Henry went to the Concert without me & Mme Riaño joined him there & he brought her back to tea here. She sat & talked some little time & then Mr Gayangos came to fetch her home. The Hunts also came in but late—Messrs Seymour & Ash: dined here. I went pretty early to bed & the gentlemen went to Mme Montijo’s & Henry took Mr Seymour to introduce him. | |
