11 April 1870 — Madrid | |
Monday. 11th [April 1870]. At 12 I went to sit to Palmaroli and Mr Ash: went with me to see the picture. Mrs Hunt met me there. Henry came at 1½ & was very angry to find Mr Ash: still there & sent him off. I had engaged to go to see Mme Canitz to day but she put me off till tomorrow, not being well eno’ to see me. I took Henry to the “Fomento” where he went to see the pictures & called for him again & there was a smart shower while I was waiting for him. We dined alone & Cerruti came in & sat with us after dinner but we had no reception. | |
