17 June 1870 — Madrid | |
Friday. 17th [June 1870]. At 10 Inzenga came to give me an hours lesson & afterwards I wrote & had a good many letters– We rode in the Casa & met the Regent driving with some of the children & the Dss in a separate carriage with the others– At ½ past 8 Cerruti came in to consult about tomorrows picnic & we told him we were going to drive down to Caravanchel to Mme Montijo’s Quinta & begged him to come with us wh he did. We found her at home & the Nava de Tajo’s & spent a couple of hours having a delightfully cool drive home at 11. | |
