7 September 1870 — Madrid | |
Wednesday. 7th [September 1870]. Worked from breakfast till 5 at the tapestry mending & then we took our walk it was windy & rain threatened. Mercier dined with us. Was in very low spirits. Cerruti came after dinner also Weisweiller. It appears the Prussians are going on to the seige of Paris—no further news. | |
