4 November 1870 — Madrid | |
Friday. 4th [November 1870]. Car Churchill arrived this morning to stay with us, from Biarritz. I did not get up to receive her as she arrived at 8 & I spent all the morning talking to her. In afternoon she rested & I & Henry went out driving; we went & got some more birds for the aviary but it was very cold & so we did not stay out long. | |
