1 December 1870 — Madrid | |
Thursday. 1st December [1870]. I went with Car in the morng while she sat for her portrait but I had a very bad headache—& after luncheon to wh Mr Ffrench came, I was obliged to go to bed & there remain for the rest of the day. Car left us at 5 o’cl. & returned to her friends at Biarritz. Henry took Adeline to the stalls to see Sapho & Arthur took care of me. | |
